Editorial: how it's written, sourced, and verified
The "About" summary on each model page is data-grounded, source-cited, and machine-verified. Snapshot as of July 5, 2026.
Each summary is built from figures computed directly from the data already on the page — fleet and registration counts, the model's standing within its manufacturer's range, and, where the records support it, its accident rate, peer safety ranking, and airworthiness-directive history. It is assembled from those figures, not written free-hand.
Where a sample is too small to support a percentage, the raw count is stated instead: a precise-looking rate over a handful of events would mislead more than it informs.
Before a summary is published, every computed figure is re-checked against current data, and anything that no longer matches is withheld rather than shown. Any external detail is included only when it is confirmed by an authoritative, primary source.
